Terms of Services

Terms and conditions apply to all services (including mobile services) offered as part of the BlockPay brand. By signing in, receiving digital currencies like Bitcoins or using BlockPay in any manner you agree to these Terms of Use. BlockPay reserves the right to modify these Terms of Use at any time. The most current version, and therefore the active agreement, is always available on this website.

Governing laws

BlockPay is a brand of BitShares Munich IVS a registered company in Denmark, and the laws of Denmark shall apply to all of BlockPay’s activities.

Create an account on BlockPay

If you want to use BlockPay, you must first create an account. Accounts can be created for both personal and business use.

As a user of BlockPay, you only need to provide an email address to create an account. However if you would like to take full advantage of the features BlockPay offers, you must verify your identity by providing information such as name, mailing address, zip code, age, etc.

Abuse of account

You are responsible for maintaining the secrecy of your account information, including username and password. In the event of misuse or suspected misuse of your account, you must immediately notify BlockPay. BlockPay on suspicion of abuse can block your account. You assume all liabilities arising from unauthorized access of your account.

BlockPay recommends that you, the user, maintains a high standard of safety:

  1. Enable 2 Factor Authentication where applicable
  2. Change your password at least once a month
  3. Never share your username and password with ANYONE
  4. Make sure that your password is too complex to guess (contains uppercase and lowercase letters and numbers)
  5. Always log out when you are finished using BlockPay.

Deleting Account

As a BlockPay user, you may choose to delete your account after 5 years of inactivity.

BlockPay reserves the right to unilaterally terminate your use of the Service, either temporarily or permanently in the event of : unacceptable user behavior, attempted abuse of others ‘accounts, attempts to gain access to others’ data or any other reason BlockPay deems necessary.

Collection of information

BlockPay collects statistics and data through BlockPay services in order to improve usability, reliability and product functionality.

One method BlockPay uses to collect data about your use of BlockPay services is through the use of cookies (small files placed on your hard drive). These help to analyze visits to our services and help us to deliver a more useful final product.

Processing information

BlockPay takes safeguarding your privacy seriously. Specific items of personal information will not be disclosed to third parties unless you have expressly accepted this. This includes name, address, email and phone number.

BlockPay will never share your specific consumption data to third parties without your express consent.

BlockPay’s technical staff is authorized to access data when necessary. This typically includes investigating suspicious transactions, technical problems, and irregularities.

BlockPay uses information about consumption on a statistical level, which your consumption data can be included. This happens for example if users want to compare their own consumption of a particular social group or the resale of statistics to third parties. BlockPay ensures that statistical data does not contain personally identifying information and therefore can not be traced back to the individual user.

Information collected through BlockPay will be treated in accordance with current Danish legislation and the Data Protection Agency guidelines.


BlockPay is the owner of all content including blog posts, articles, videos, tips and advice as posted on the BlockPay website unless otherwise stated.

Encryption of data traffic

The data that is communicated back and forth between BlockPay and your computer is encrypted with a 256-bit SSL certificate. This means no one can intercept the data stream between BlockPay and your device.


While we aim for 100% server up-time, we realize this isn’t always possible. We are constantly working on improvements and performing upgrades which may result in server outages. When you create an account on BlockPay, you agree to the status of the service at that time. BlockPay reserves the right to perform maintenance or changes to the service at any time it sees fit. This may result in periods during which the service may be temporarily unavailable. BlockPay will, to the extent that it is possible, announce such interruptions in advance. However, it is not required to do so and is not responsible for any damages or losses resulting from server outages.


You are responsible for the activities performed under your account on BlockPay. BlockPay shall not be liable for your or other users’ content. If you come across content that is not correct, offensive or against the Terms of Service, you should report this to BlockPay ( immediately. BlockPay reserves the right to delete content at any time it deems necessary.

BlockPay is committed to the high standard of data security and precision. However, BlockPay shall not be liable for any loss that you may incur as a result of malfunctions, errors, security breaches or any other reason. In cases where BlockPay establishes contact between the user and the third party, BlockPay shall not be liable for any agreements and contracts concluded between these parties.


These Terms were last updated on July 17, 2016, and replaces all previous versions of this document. In the event of any disagreement, this document shall be considered final. This agreement remains in effect until a new version is released.
